Institute of Computer Science in Vorarlberg (ICV-HSG)
The Vorarlberg and University of St. Gallen initiative that established the ICV-HSG in Dornbirn, and that funds three PhD positions in the Sensing Group.
This initiative supports part of the group’s work and connects us with partners across the Vorarlberg region. It also established the institute our group is based in.
On 1 February 2024, the University of St. Gallen, the Land Vorarlberg, illwerke vkw, and cooperation partners from Vorarlberg business and industry, together with the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce (WKV) and the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV), established the Institute of Computer Science in Vorarlberg (ICV-HSG) at Campus V in Dornbirn, part of the University of St. Gallen’s School of Computer Science. It works on two focus areas: Embedded Sensing Systems (including industrial networks) and Big Data Infrastructures. The Sensing Group is part of the Embedded Sensing Systems focus area, which Prof. Bruno Rodrigues leads; the institute is directed by Prof. Stephan Aier.
Within this framework, the initiative funds three PhD positions in the group, supporting part of our research and helping us foster collaboration between academia and industry in the region.
