Pulse-wave DDoS attacks fire short, synchronized bursts that slip past pattern-based defenses and quickly exhaust classical mitigations. The hard part for defenders: no public dataset shows how such attacks unfold across multiple network domains, where each vantage point sees only a fragment. DPWS is an open-source simulator that models multi-AS topologies and emits synchronized packet captures at several autonomous systems, exposing the distributed structure of coordinated bursts. With lightweight, YAML-driven control over traffic parameters, it finally gives researchers the correlated, multi-vantage data that early detection and attribution have been missing.
