Sensor-driven data meshes promise continuous data sharing across the Industrial IoT, but who gets to join, and who can be trusted? This paper presents a framework for automated onboarding and credential management built on federated governance and decentralized identities, using decentralized membership voting and verifiable credential issuance to establish trust between coalition members. The result is simpler domain integration and secure collaboration with no central authority in charge.
