Abstract

In the context of sound source localization, many approaches have been proposed and implemented to solve the inherent problems and achieve high localization accuracy. However, there is currently a lack of comprehensive solutions that integrate the individual components into a single, userfriendly library that offers all necessary capabilities for sound source localization. We present pysoundlocalization, a Python library aimed at the localization of stationary and moving sound sources in polyphonic, noisy environments. Pysoundlocalization offers ready-for-use implementations to support simulation of real-world experiment setups, preprocessing of audio signals, and localization of sound sources based on time difference of arrival and multilateration, which has been applied in research due to its simplicity and effectiveness.
